Dog - Dad Cremation Tattoo

September 6th of 2024, the day I made one of the best (and eventually painful) decisions of my life. The day I brought him home from animal services, those bright blue eyes had me immediately. The way he looked at me, the emotion and soul in those eyes. He'd only been in the shelter for a month, but the way he looked at me when he first saw me. It was like he knew immediately, 'Thats my human' the tail wagging and the excitement. Little did I know that was the beginning of the best two years of my life.
He did everything with me, he improved my mental health astronomical, when he started to show potential for service dog training? Oh well jumped on that so quickly, I worked with him for hours, we became such a good team, working together. He loved his job, he not only worked as my service dog but he helped me at my own work at a dog daycare! He'd help interact with new nervous dogs coming in or help as an example dog to teach new staff. He was the perfect boy, always eager to work, be with the people, and do whatever he could to make me smile. Then after a long day of work, we'd cuddle up together on the bed and relax. Ever the cuddle bug that one, if you stopped petting him? Oh He'd look at you with those big bright blue eyes and you just couldn't help but give a few more scratches.
Things like fetch or tug? Oh he was all over it, going out to the dog park and showing off all his fancy tricks from weaving between my legs to perfect recall/heeling. He adored every moment of it just as much as I adore him. He was the greatest thing to me, the best decision I had ever made (as impulsive as it was). Gone way to young at 4 years old, not even 2 years with you, no where near enough time. I love you so much my handsome boy, and may you rest easy up there, reunited with every ball you lost at the dog park.
