TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for choosing Cremation Tattoos! Proper aftercare is essential for healing and maintaining the quality of your tattoo.

 Please carefully follow these instructions:

1. Initial Care with Second Skin

  • A second skin has been applied to your fresh tattoo to protect it and promote healing.

  • Keep the second skin on for 3-6 days.

    • While you're wearing the second skin, you might notice the surface underneath accumulating slight moisture, which can make the tattoo look blurry. This is plasma building up from your skin and pulling up micro fragments of ink – it's a normal part of the healing process.

    • You can shower with your second skin on, avoid direct water, and dry thoroughly.  No baths.

2. Removing the Second Skin

  • Wash your hands before peeling off the second skin.

  • Gently peel off the second skin.

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo.

3. Cleaning Your Tattoo

  • Wash your tattoo gently with warm water and a fragrance-free soap.

  • Do not scrub; use your clean fingertips to cleanse the area.

  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let it air dry.

4. Moisturizing Your Tattoo

  • If your tattoo is dry, apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer or healing ointment.

  • Do not over-apply; Your tattoo should not feel greasy.

5. General Healing Guidelines

  • Avoid soaking the tattoo (no swimming, baths, or hot tubs) for at least 3-4 weeks.

  • Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight. After it heals, always use sunscreen to protect it.

  • Avoid scratching or picking at the tattoo. Peeling and scabbing are normal; let it heal naturally.

  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over the tattoo to prevent irritation.

6. What to Watch For

  • Some redness, swelling, or tenderness is normal in the first few days.

  • If you notice signs of infection, such as excessive redness, swelling, pus, or a foul odor, contact a medical professional immediately.

7. Follow Up Contact Information

  • Healing times vary, but most tattoos heal within 3-4 weeks.
