Father and Daughter Cremation Tattoo

Written by Emily Campbell

My dad is one of my favourite people in the world. We shared so many interests and so many memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. His love for me and my brother was unwavering, and he would constantly remind us how proud he is of the people we've become. Him and I were always similar, but it was really fun becoming an adult and being able to bond over our love of golf, travelling, and craft breweries. I never had a trip home to Winnipeg that didn't include games of crib and fun beers.

Since I can remember my dad called me 'peanut'. I knew that I wanted a tattoo to honour him, so when I heard about Kerri's art through dad's palliative care doctor I had to reach out. I'm so thankful to have this piece of my dad with me in a way that's even more special and closely connected than I could have imagined. Grieving the loss of him has been a roller coaster, but knowing he's always with me in more ways than one has brought a little bit of comfort in this really challenging time.

Now for every round of golf, new brewery, crib game, and new city I experience I know he's with me. For that, I'm eternally grateful.
